So it seems that being a student isn't the ball and chain lifestyle that I had previously believed. Apparently you still have full control over your life and can just keep doing what ever the hell you want!
Finding a seat sale for 200 return to Hawaii is a pretty good deal and has pretty good potential for a fun adventure, but it just feels a little too easy. I enjoy putting a few obstacles in the way just to make things interesting... Like flying from a city not in Canada, that's nine hours away.
After hitching a ride with a few great people to Vancouver and then filling my face with cheap sushi it was time to hang out with some chums( + heavy metal dude) from back home.
Flight 2018 was to leave in a couple days to Hawaii from Bellingham WA in a couple days, which left some time to explore the city a bit. Since my bust to Washington was fairly late, the company refunded the ticket leaving my wallet unscathed (finally found an excuse to use that word) from the 900 Km journey.
My couch surfing host turned out to be a couple hours walk from the desolate area where bus terminals usually are. Luckily this bike presented itself to me from the bottom of a creak I was walking by. (The next day I would fill the tires with air and check out town until the tires exploded and I sent it back to the bottom of the creek.)
My couch surfing host was kind enough to drop me off at the airport in the AM. I always find it strange how you can fall asleep for 6 hours on a plane and wake up on a tiny island in the middle of nowhere.
Why is there a city this big in the middle of the ocean?
